Innovative design and technologies powering the T 264

User-centric design

The ergonomic design of the T 264 cab creates a safe, comfortable and productive environment. It’s certified to protect against roll-over and falling-object incidents and its tinted safety glass windows offer maximum visibility.

Plus, the unique suspension and double wishbone A-arm frame means fewer vibrations, resulting in an extra gentle ride and an extremely easy driving experience.

And like all Liebherr mining trucks, the T 264 is equipped with ladders and platforms for effortless access to the engine and ground level maintenance areas for safe and efficient servicing.

Litronic Plus AC Drive System

The T 264 has a diesel-electric drive system, called the Litronic Plus AC Drive System, rather than a mechanical drive system. It was designed, developed and built by Liebherr to maximise the amount of electrical power converted into mechanical torque for faster truck acceleration and reduced energy consumption.

Dynamic braking

The T 264 has the highest dynamic braking capabilities and the fastest loaded downhill speed in its class. Rather than relying on friction to bring the truck to a stop, the T 264’s dynamic brakes use the Litronic Plus AC Drive System as a generator when slowing the vehicle. The Litronic Plus AC Drive System also makes it possible for the truck to stop automatically at low speeds, without needing mechanical brake application, to ensure operator safety.

T 264 Battery Electric

Liebherr has achieved the next milestone in delivering fossil-fuel-free solutions for digging, hauling and dozing by 2030 with the launch of the innovative T 264 Battery Electric mining truck. This truck takes all the benefits of the T 264 while producing zero greenhouse gas emissions.

The diesel-electric T 264 can be easily repowered to run on a battery-electric power system thanks to Liebherr’s modular design philosophy to maximise the truck’s long-term value.

Autonomous Haulage Solution

Liebherr’s Autonomous Haulage Solution (AHS) is revolutionising mining operations by combining cutting-edge automation technology with real insights to enhance the productivity, safety and efficiency of your operations.

The autonomous platform has been designed with the future in mind and is compatible with both diesel-electric and zero emission energy systems. The AHS can be integrated with Liebherr’s Fleet Management System (FMS) Energy Management System to orchestrate the replenishment of Liebherr’s zero emission mining truck.

Dynamic Power Transfer

Liebherr currently offers two different kinds of dynamic power solutions for its mining trucks: the Trolley Assist System and Liebherr Power Rail.

Trolley Assist System

The Trolley Assist System uses an overhead pantograph to connect the trucks’ electric-drive system to the mine’s electrical network, lowering fuel consumption and raising speed on grade.

Liebherr Power Rail

Liebherr Power Rail is a class-agnostic dynamic power concept based on the company’s existing trolley bar technology, utilising a bar mounted on the side of the truck. This solution is designed to be easy to install and to relocate on site.
