<p>The world’s first commercial aircraft featuring folding wingtips, the Boeing 777X, is equipped with a hydraulically driven folding mechanism made by Liebherr, including a power drive unit, geared rotary actuators and latch/locking actuators.</p>

Hydraulic systems   

<p>Liebherr develops and manufactures hydraulic pumps and motors operating at pressures up to 5,000 psi, serving high-reliability applications like electro-hydraulic actuators and high-lift systems. Electrically driven pumps for fighters and helicopters are also part of the portfolio. </p><p>Hydraulic circuits power critical functions such as flight controls and landing gear operations. Customized manifolds with complex hydraulic circuits ensure precise sequencing, using materials like aluminum, steel, and titanium. Liebherr’s expertise in designing and manufacturing system control components guarantees reliable and efficient performance across all applications.</p>

Door actuation

<p>We develop and manufacture actuators to open and close doors for applications like cargo doors or landing gear doors. Liebherr also is able to supply complete customized door actuation systems featuring actuators, control manifolds and system electronic controllers with embedded software.</p>

Air refueling

<p>The most advanced air refueling systems, used on A330 MRTT, A400M, KC-46 or KC-390 are equipped with Liebherr hose drum drive systems. The Liebherr ruddervator control systems supports the operation of the A330 MRTT boom refueling system.</p>

Gears and gearboxes

<p>Since several decades, Liebherr has developed and produced gearboxes and high precision gears for helicopters and airplanes. With power transmission gearboxes, mechanical power is taken from a helicopter engine or auxiliary power unit and provided to other users which need this power throughout the aircraft. </p><p>High speed aircraft engine power gearboxes provide power at extremely high efficiencies and rotating speeds. Liebherr gears are integrated in actuators and gearboxes that are part of the transmission systems which power the aircraft flap and slat actuators.</p>
