LHM 420

Mobile Harbour Crane

The design of the LHM 420 has been optimised for ships in the Post-Panamax class. The Liebherr mobile harbour crane series raises and lowers loads at up to 120 metres per minute. The LHM 420 has a maximum load capacity of 124 tonnes and handles up to 38 containers per hour with its hybrid drive. The versatile crane is also suitable for the efficient handling of bulk cargoes, as well as the safe transportation of general cargoes.

  • Lifting capacity (max.) - 124 t

  • Jib length - 48 m

  • Total weight - 371 t

  • Hoisting/lowering max. - 120 m/min

4-chord boom
The four struts (lattice design) of the boom provide maximum stability and handle the sideways pull better than alternative boom designs. This results in a longer service life.
Pull cylinder
The pull cylinder over the boom offers many advantages: no collision with swinging load, no buckling of the cylinder and full protection of the piston rod in park position.
Hydrostatic drive
Closed hydraulic loops are used for all main functions such as lifting, turning and luffing. The crane operator benefits from extremely precise control, the service personnel benefit from a minimum number of components and the operating company benefits from reduced fuel consumption.
Paintwork
To defy the rough maritime environmental conditions, the standard paintwork comprises a primer coat, an intermediate coat and a top coat.
Tower cab position
Optimal views for the operator. The forward-mounting position of the tower cab with 70% glass (safety glass) offers the driver a comprehensive visibility range.
Service network
Like all maritime cranes from Liebherr, our mobile harbour crane can rely on a dense service network worldwide. This ensures short downtimes and a quick response.
