Innovative leveling systems
Liebherr’s sensor-controlled electrohydraulic leveling systems enable precise height adjustments of up to 80 millimeters, allowing trains to align with platforms for smooth, barrier-free access. Widely used in North America, these systems meet stringent regulations and have delivered excellent results in real-world applications. A typical system includes a hydraulic power unit, leveling actuator, position sensor (optionally integrated into a vertical damper), and a controller, ensuring reliable operation.
Our hydraulics programme ranges from complete leveling systems to passive undercarriage control systems, and all the way to electrohydraulic actuators for tilting technologies used in railway vehicles. All the hydraulic features ensure a more comfortable ride, even at high speeds, which can also significantly reduce travel times for passengers.
