Household Appliance Warranty Extension 2026 – Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions do not affect the consumer's statutory rights.
Liebherr Appliances Belgium NV, having its registered office at Preflexbaan 162-165, 1740 Ternat, Belgium (hereinafter referred to as "Liebherr"), grants the purchaser of a Liebherr refrigerator and/or freezer (hereinafter referred to as "the appliance") a warranty for that appliance under the following terms and conditions. The warranty commences upon delivery of the appliance to the purchaser who has acquired the appliance for its first use and remains valid for a period of twenty-four (24) months (hereinafter referred to as the "Liebherr Warranty").
Upon commissioning of the appliance, the owner of the appliance will receive, following registration, a free extension of the Liebherr Warranty for an additional period of ninety-six (96) months in accordance with the provisions of these terms and conditions (hereinafter referred to as the "Liebherr Household Warranty Extension"). The Liebherr Household Warranty Extension applies exclusively to household appliances. Professional appliances are excluded from this scheme.
I. Duration and Commencement of the Liebherr Household Warranty Extension
The Liebherr Household Warranty Extension is granted for a period of ninety-six (96) months (hereinafter referred to as the "Warranty Period").
The Warranty Period commences immediately upon expiry of the original Liebherr Warranty. The Warranty Period shall not be extended or renewed by any work performed or services provided under this Liebherr Household Warranty Extension.
II. Conditions for the Liebherr Household Warranty Extension
The Liebherr Household Warranty Extension shall only be granted if compliance with the following conditions can be demonstrated:
This warranty is valid only within Belgium and Luxembourg.
The appliance was originally purchased from a professional seller in Belgium or Luxembourg.
The appliance is installed in Belgium or Luxembourg.
The confirmation document for the Liebherr Household Warranty Extension is presented to Liebherr Customer Service for the appliance concerned.
The Liebherr Household Warranty Extension is not transferable to another appliance.
The free Liebherr Household Warranty Extension has been requested from Liebherr within six (6) months of purchase of the appliance through registration at home.liebherr.com.
III. Content and Scope of the Liebherr Household Warranty Extension
Defects occurring during the Warranty Period that can be proven to result from material or manufacturing defects shall be remedied free of charge by Liebherr Customer Service. In the event of defects affecting interior components, handles, or trim strips, Liebherr reserves the right, where reasonably and safely feasible, to supply the owner with the relevant replacement parts free of charge for self-installation. Replaced parts become the property of Liebherr and will be disposed of responsibly by the service technician.
The Liebherr Household Warranty Extension does not include any claims against Liebherr beyond the rectification of defects. To the extent permitted by law, Liebherr accepts no liability for indirect or consequential damages of any kind.
A repair carried out during the Warranty Period does not extend the duration of the warranty. If the appliance cannot be repaired by Liebherr Appliances Belgium N.V., the appliance shall be replaced with a new comparable model. Liebherr Appliances Belgium N.V. reserves the right to charge a reasonable usage fee for the period during which the appliance has been used.
The Liebherr Household Warranty Extension covers labour and spare parts. Call-out charges will be applied when a service technician visits the appliance location.
IV. Exclusions and Termination of the Liebherr Household Warranty Extension
The following faults or defects are excluded from the Liebherr Household Warranty Extension where they result from:
a. Failure to comply with the operating and/or installation instructions, incorrect installation and/or connection, improper or inappropriate use, incorrect operation, overloading, or inadequate maintenance.
b. External influences such as transport damage, impact damage, shock damage, weather-related damage, or other natural disasters.
c. Repairs or modifications not carried out by Liebherr Customer Service or an authorised Liebherr service partner.
The Liebherr Household Warranty Extension also excludes defects affecting door seals and components directly connected thereto, such as lids and doors, where such defects are attributable to a defective door seal, as well as glass breakage, lighting components, and age-related cosmetic defects.
The Liebherr Household Warranty Extension shall become void if the type plate or serial number has been removed, altered, tampered with, or rendered illegible by any party, or if non-original components have been installed in the appliance.
If Liebherr Customer Service is called out during the Warranty Period without justification, the user shall be liable for the associated costs at the rates applicable at that time. Current rates are available at home.liebherr.com. This applies where the fault description provided by the user does not lead to the identification of an actual defect or malfunction.
If the appliance has been built in, installed underneath a structure, suspended, or positioned in such a way that the total time required for removal and reinstallation exceeds thirty (30) minutes, the resulting additional costs shall be charged to the user. In such cases, the user may also be requested to arrange for the appliance to be removed and reinstalled by the supplier. Any damage resulting from non-standard removal or installation shall be borne by the user.
V. Limitation Period
Claims under the Liebherr Household Warranty Extension must be submitted within the Warranty Period and within six (6) months of discovery of the defect. The limitation period commences upon discovery of the defect.
Privacy Statement
Liebherr collects and processes personal data solely:
(i) for the conclusion, performance, and termination of this Liebherr Household Warranty Extension agreement;
(ii) for marketing purposes, provided that the data subject has given consent for such purposes; and
(iii) for contacting the data subject regarding product safety matters, including product recalls, where necessary.
