So far, setting up a luffing lattice jib was a complicated procedure and a challenge even for experienced crane operators. Liebherr has developed a new solution to overcome this: The user-friendly LICCON2 crane control system makes automated erection of the crane's luffing lattice jib. The process is now considerably less complex, which takes the pressure off the crane operator and enhances safety.
This was also recognised by the ESTA committee – who distinguished this innovation of Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH with the ESTA Award in the category of safety. Christoph Kleiner, Managing Director of Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH, received the prize at the award ceremony, which was held at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich on April 14, 2016 during the Bauma trade show. Liebherr won over Mammoet Europe B.V., Manitowoc, TII, who were also nominated for the distinction in this category.
The ESTA Award is the most important European prize in the areas of crane and transport and is awardeddifferent categories, for example safety, innovation, combined technologies and load capacity.
