Girgin Pirina Puts Its Trust in Liebherr Power for Olive Processing
Turkish company relies on the strength and reliability of the Liebherr T 60-9s telescopic handler in its olive processing operation in Ödemiş.
At Girgin Pirina's site in Ödemiş, in Turkey's İzmir province, production runs around the clock to process olives, olive oil and olive pomace. To keep up with the resulting material handling and demanding work at height, the company relies on a Liebherr T 60-9s telescopic handler. As a versatile all-rounder, the machine handles all civil and groundworks on site itself, making it a permanent fixture of daily production.

Ödemiş, in Turkey's İzmir province, is home to the heart of Girgin Pirina's regional olive processing operation. As the factories run continuously to produce olives, olive oil and olive pomace, the company carries out all civil and groundworks on site itself. The Liebherr T 60-9s takes on the role of central multi-purpose machine and is in constant use: it plays a key part in handling olive pomace, transports and stacks heavy crates of olives, and takes care of all height-related tasks across the site. For a company whose production never stops, the machine's availability matters just as much as its versatility.

Switching to a Liebherr telescopic handler took a little getting used to for Girgin Pirina's operators: on the previous machine, the direction-of-travel switch sat below the joystick, whereas on the T 60-9s it's built directly into it. What felt unfamiliar in the first few days quickly turned into an appreciated advantage – operators adapted fast to the ergonomic layout and now wouldn't want to be without it. The T 60-9s also impresses in daily operation, with short cycle times that fully meet the company's high expectations. The integrated reversing camera makes everyday work easier still and improves safety on the busy factory site, while the spacious cab and excellent all-round visibility round off the outstanding operator comfort.
About the T 60-9s

The T 60-9s is powered by a 115 kW / 156 hp diesel engine paired with Liebherr's proven hydrostatic drive, delivering stepless acceleration alongside strong fuel efficiency. The powerful hydraulic system, with a maximum flow rate of 200 l/min, enables large volumes of material to be handled with both power and precision. With a maximum lift height of 8,780 mm, a load capacity of up to 6,000 kg and a reach of 4,880 mm, the machine comfortably manages demanding work at height across the site. Four selectable steering modes add exceptional manoeuvrability, even in confined spaces – a clear advantage on a busy factory floor.

Beyond sheer performance, the telescopic handler also scores on economy. While performance remains the team's main priority, management was pleased to note the machine's low fuel consumption. Combined with high availability and minimal downtime, the Liebherr T 60-9s has already proven itself a dependable investment in the future of Girgin Pirina's production. With its blend of power, agility and operator comfort, the telescopic handler has firmly established itself as part of the company's daily operations.
