Liebherr-Hausgeräte takes part in the International Electronics Fair (IFA) in Berlin from 31 August to 5 September 2018. The motto of the refrigerating and freezing specialists for the trade fair this year is "New Thinking". In Hall 2.1 (Stand 201) Liebherr showcases new technical innovations and individual design solutions.
New Thinking – Organise your food smarter
"The way 'New Thinking' impacts our everyday lives – today and in the future – can be experienced first-hand at our exhibition stand. We invite our visitors to accompany us on the way home from the office via the supermarket in order to see how our digital solutions help organise food items smarter in day-to-day life,” explains Steffen Nagel, Managing Director Sales (Global) for Liebherr-Hausgeräte GmbH. "We help avoid food waste and give smart device app users valuable tips when shopping for healthy eating and tasty recipe suggestions."
New Thinking – For your individual lifestyle
With MyStyle Liebherr also offers the unique option of individually designing a fridge. "This way we are setting new standards in terms of customisation. Not only can our customers select the interior design or material of their fridge, but also the exterior to suit their own personal taste – you can't get much more unique than that", says Steffen Nagel. "Besides material and colour, even personal photos or favourite sayings can enhance the fridge." In addition to compact refrigerators for self-design, for the first time at the IFA a fridge-freezer combination will be presented that can be tailored to the customer's personal requirements.
New Thinking – Cooling redefined
This year Liebherr fridges and freezers will win customers over with many innovative highlights, smart technologies and personalised appliance design. "New Thinking" is the main focus. A prime example of this is the Monolith appliances with their impressive dimensions (2.13 m tall). After a successful European première at Eurocucina in Milan, Liebherr presents the Monolith series for the first time in Germany at the IFA. "The appliances can be combined, depending on the customer's requirements, and turned into impressive Freshness Centres. To do this, the Monolith series combines the latest cooling technology with elegant design, luxurious features and future-oriented SmartDevice technology", says Steffen Nagel.

Through the basalt with ‘Mjölnir’ – Viking machine drilling in Mexico
Whilst on a trip to Europe, Olga Sánchez, the director of the Mexican company Grupo Olsa, discovered the Viking culture. Their impressive power inspired her to use an equally powerful drilling rig for deep foundation work on the AIFA-Pachuca railway project in her home country. This gave rise to the idea of the ‘Mjölnir’ Viking machine, which took shape with the Liebherr LB 25.
