Game of Cranes: Liebherr is looking for the world’s best mobile crane driver
- Liebherr organises international competition for its customers
- Safety, dexterity and technical understanding required
- The winner will receive a shop voucher worth € 2,500 for their company
Which company employs the best mobile crane driver? The crane manufacturer from Ehingen (Germany) is inviting its customers’ crane drivers to take part in the international “Game of Cranes” competition. The competition centres on the question: Who can best demonstrate their skills and expertise and will make it to the throne? The participants compete in three disciplines: safety, dexterity and technical understanding.
Ehingen (Donau) (Germany), 7 April 2025 – “The job of a crane driver requires technical understanding, dexterity and a sense of responsibility. With the ‘Game of Cranes’, we not only want to honour the skills of crane drivers, but also raise awareness of the profession,” says Michaela Gogeißl from Liebherr Customer Training, adding: “We are looking forward to numerous entries and an exciting competition!”
And here’s how to take part:
Registration: From 7 April to 31 May 2025, companies can register their mobile crane operators who will participate on their behalf in the competition, using the QR code with a link to the Liebherr homepage. Worldwide, all mobile crane customers of Liebherr can take part.
Voting: On behalf of their company, the registered crane drivers promote their participation in the competition with a video or a photo, demonstrating their skills, on social media. Whether in a 2-axle model or a 1,200-tonne crane – the most impressive operation is what counts – so the more votes the video receives by July 2025, the better.
Qualification: Who makes it to the preliminary round in September 2025 depends on various factors – both the number of votes and the judgement of Liebherr’s mobile crane experts.
Preliminary round: Following successful qualification, the participants will go to the preliminary round. Depending on the customer location, a total of five representatives from participating companies from each region travel either to Newport News (USA), Guaratinguetá (Brazil), Adelaide (Australia), Azuqueca de Henares (Spain) or Dammam (Saudi Arabia), depending on the customer’s location. Here, the crane operators will be able to demonstrate their skills and expertise in three disciplines.
Final: The five best crane drivers will be invited to Ehingen (Germany) in November 2025. Whoever prevails against their competitors in the disciplines of safety, dexterity and technical understanding can not only call themselves the winner of the “Game of Cranes” – the Liebherr customer can also boast of having the world's best mobile crane operator in its team.
Prize: The top three winners will receive vouchers for their companies (1st place €2,500, 2nd place €1,250, 3rd place €500) to redeem in the Liebherr shop – unlimited in time and applicable to multiple purchases.
