Liebherr took part for the first time at the world’s leading retail fair from 16 to 20 February 2014. At EuroShop 2014 in Düsseldorf, the company presented a selection of refrigerators and freezers for commercial use.
The new generation of chest freezers, specially designed for supermarkets, was presented to the public for the first time. These chest freezers, which combine functionality with modern design, were developed with a special focus on optimum product presentation and handling, low energy consumption, an automatic thawing system and new, intelligent electronics.
EuroShop provides the impulse for ideas and innovations, as well as a chance for retail trade insiders to meet up. With more than 2000 exhibitors, the international fair for store construction, shopfitting, store design, sales promotion, POS marketing, information technology and security engineering is an important meeting point for retailers, and takes place every three years.

Liebherr is increasing the overall service life of its Fibre ropes from 14 to 16 years, with the decisive period of use rising to up to 12 years. This is based on multi-year ageing trials on test rigs and analyses of ropes already in field. The new ruling applies automatically to all new ropes and those already in the field. This step forms part of Liebherr's ongoing path towards establishing Fibre technology as the new standard in the tower crane market.
