Schlamann-Autokrane GmbH has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 mobile crane, thereby specifically strengthening its fleet. The 230-tonne crane with a 75-metre telescopic boom is particularly suitable for operations requiring large hook heights, such as the erection of electricity pylons. With this new acquisition, the fleet now comprises 23 mobile cranes, with Schlamann continuing to rely on modern technology and its close partnership with Liebherr. Three further cranes from Ehingen are set to follow later this year.
Schlamann-Autokrane GmbH has taken delivery of a new LTM 1230-5.1 mobile crane from Liebherr. Managing Director Torsten Schlamann and his daughter Katharina travelled to the manufacturer’s factory for the handover – the third generation of the family business is already actively involved in the company. With the new 230-metric-tonne crane, Schlamann is specifically expanding its fleet with a high-performance machine for demanding operations. The LTM 1230-5.1 is particularly impressive thanks to its 75-metre-long telescopic boom. This makes it ideally suited to work on steep gradients and at great hook heights – for example, when erecting tower cranes, maintaining wind turbines or installing electricity pylons.
A particular focus of Schlamann’s operations in future will be on energy infrastructure: “As part of the energy transition, work on erecting electricity pylons has increased, and this trend is set to continue over the coming years. Thanks to its long telescopic boom, the LTM 1230-5.1 means we can avoid having to fit a lattice extension,” explains Managing Director Torsten Schlamann. The crane’s high flexibility and performance help the company to carry out projects efficiently whilst reducing set-up times.
With this latest acquisition, the Schlamann fleet has grown to a total of 23 mobile cranes. The largest crane in the fleet is an LTM 1300-6.3, which was delivered last year. Continuous investment in modern technology is an integral part of the company’s strategy. “Our operators are delighted with the new driver assistance systems, such as the blind spot information system,” says Katharina Schlamann. She adds: “Liebherr is a reliable partner for us. The cranes impress with their high quality and long-term value. We particularly appreciate the personal approach and the relationship built on trust.”
Schlamann remains committed to Liebherr for the future and has already ordered three further cranes, which are due to be delivered before the end of this year. These include the new LTM 1055-3.3, which stands out in particular for its low axle loads. This means operations can be carried out without the need for complex road permits. Even with complete counterweight – for which Schlamann has ordered the counterweight trailer. The LTM 1055-3.3 offers outstanding lifting capacities, particularly at long reaches. It is equipped with the modern LICCON3 control system.
Also included in the order is an LTM 1150-5.4 with LICCON3 control system. With a 66-metre telescopic boom, it offers a very long reach and, with an axle load of 12 tonnes, already carries 9 tonnes of ballast. Schlamann already owns three 150-tonne Liebherr cranes. In addition, there is an LTF 1060-4.1 telescopic truck-mounted crane. “We can use this particularly well in our rural area, where it can travel over long distances without requiring a permit,” says Torsten Schlamann.
With these investments, Schlamann is further expanding its capacity and ensuring that it can continue to respond flexibly to its customers’ requirements in the future. In addition to mobile cranes, the company – which employs 95 people across four sites – also hires out aerial work platforms and forklift trucks. Its fleet comprises around 300 units and machines.
