Handing over the keys at Bauma 2025: Leyrer + Graf delighted with the first battery-electric L 507 E

Leading Austrian construction company Leyrer + Graf accepted the key to its new L 507 E wheel loader at Bauma. Acquiring the battery-electric wheel loader takes Leyrer + Graf another step towards a sustainable future.

Representatives from Leyrer + Graf, a family-run construction company based in Gmünd (Austria) with around 2,700 employees, were delighted to receive the keys to their battery-electric wheel loader L 507 E in person at Bauma. The wheel loader complements the existing Liebherr fleet as the first machine with an electric drive. In future, Leyrer + Graf will be using the L 507 E on various construction sites, for example in building and road construction.

Leyrer + Graf is one of the largest customers for Liebherr construction machines in Austria and is also a valued and long-standing testing and trial partner. The company has tested the L 507 E in various applications, such as building construction and civil engineering sites, as part of a test operation lasting several years. The battery-electric wheel loader impressed with its dynamic and powerful performance, which is equivalent to that of a conventionally powered wheel loader. The L 507 E also scored highly with its low noise levels and emission-free operation.

Liebherr relies on a high-voltage battery system – specially developed for L 507 E wheel loader operations – which ensures powerful performance and efficient charging. Depending on the operating conditions, the L 507 E has a run time of up to eight hours. To further increase the running time, Liebherr’s modular battery design also allows a second lithium-ion battery to be installed at the plant at the customer’s request. A full battery charge can take between ninety minutes and three hours, depending on the on-board charging technology and power rating.
