Autorail à Grande Capacité (AGC)

HVAC units developed and manufactured by Liebherr are integrated in SNCF’s Autorail à Grand Capacité (AGC) trains by Alstom, which are operated in the Occitania Region (France). The air-conditioning system based on environmentally friendly air cycle technology uses only ambient air as a coolant instead of conventional chemical refrigerants.

Heating-, ventilation- and air-conditioning system based on aircycle technology

Technology

Cooling without refrigerants is the concept behind Liebherr's air cycle heating-, ventilation- and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems. It operates with an open loop process and draws the air required for the cooling process from the environment. The air expands and thus cools. Then the cool air runs through the heat exchanger and is subsequently returned to the ambience. The HVAC system complies with all common passenger comfort requirements such as UIC 553, EN13129 and EN14750, and – as a real alternative to chemical refrigerants – helps to reduce the greenhouse effect according to worldwide HFC regulations.

FLIRT electrical multiple unit

Liebherr supplies to Stadler Polska series-produced propane-based HVAC systems for FLIRT trains (Fast Light Intercity and Regional Train).

Etihad DMU

The saloon and cab HVAC units are installed on high-speed diesel multiple unit trains manufactured by the Chinese company CRRC. The trains are operated by Etihad Rail, the national railway company of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on UAE’s first national rail network.

Twindexx Swiss Express

With its electro-hydraulic actuator, Liebherr is on board of the Alstom Twindexx, the flagship of SBB's long-distance services.

X-Wagen

In close collaboration with Siemens Liebherr developed and produces a compact, closed, electrohydraulic brake actuator including all the components necessary to build-up and release the brake force as well as local control. The Siemens braking system demonstrates its advantages on the new modern underground railway in Vienna.

CTA 7000

Liebherr supplies level control systems for its customer CRRC Sifang America. These are installed in the 7000 series rail vehicles operated by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA).
