Liebherr Brasil Ltda. in Guaratinguetá, Brazil, recently celebrated its 40th anniversary. The company was founded in 1974, and manufactures tower cranes, wheel loaders, off-shore cranes and truck mixers. Also Liebherr Brasil Ltda. is responsible for the sales and service activities of the Liebherr group in Brazil.
The two-day festivities began with an official anniversary celebration attended by around 400 guests, including customers, partners and politicians. The visitors then had the opportunity to visit the production facilities and view numerous exhibits and demonstrations on the factory site. As well as this, there were tours of the plant of Liebherr Aerospace Brasil Ltda., the other Liebherr company in Guaratinguetá. This company manufactures products including parts and components for the aviation industry.
On the second day, staff of both companies were invited along with their families. On that day, a total of 4,500 visitors celebrated the 40th anniversary of Liebherr in Brazil.

Liebherr is increasing the overall service life of its Fibre ropes from 14 to 16 years, with the decisive period of use rising to up to 12 years. This is based on multi-year ageing trials on test rigs and analyses of ropes already in field. The new ruling applies automatically to all new ropes and those already in the field. This step forms part of Liebherr's ongoing path towards establishing Fibre technology as the new standard in the tower crane market.
