Maritime cranes

LPS 800

The LPS 800 from Liebherr is the largest portal crane available on the market, which is based on our successful mobile harbour crane concept. The crane impresses with its unique performance data in container and general cargo handling, and processes up to 2,300 tonnes of bulk material per hour. The customised portal design takes into account all port requirements.

  • Lifting capacity (max.) - 308 t

  • Jib length - 64 m

  • Total weight - 742 t

  • Hoisting/lowering max. - 120 m/min

4-chord boom
The four struts (lattice design) of the boom provide maximum stability and handle the sideways pull better than alternative boom designs. This results in a longer service life.
Portal
The design of the portal is customised. This includes: rail spacing, portal height, wheel loads and ladder to the slewing platform.
Main supply
The main supply can be effected via low voltage (400 V) or high voltage (1 kV - 20 kV). The cable drum is secured to the portal and independently takes care of the unwinding and winding of the power cable.
Pull cylinder
The pull cylinder over the boom offers many advantages: no collision with swinging load, no buckling of the cylinder and full protection of the piston rod in park position.
Anti-collision protection
Buffers are provided at all 4 corners of the portal as collision protection. Visible limit switches can be installed as additional security.
Hydrostatic drive
Closed hydraulic loops are used for all main functions such as lifting, turning and luffing. The crane operator benefits from extremely precise control, the service personnel benefit from a minimum number of components and the operating company benefits from reduced fuel consumption.
