A substantial investment by the hotel’s owners the Liebherr family, has brought new life to the hotel, enhancing its long-standing relationship with the beautiful surroundings and maximising the property’s unrivalled views of the Gap of Dunloe. The Liebherr family has been at the forefront of tourism and manufacturing industries in Killarney and the surrounding areas for over 60 years, employing 1,000 people across the country. Tánaiste Simon Coveney TD, Minister for Foreign Affairs & Trade, and Kerry TD Brendan Griffin, Minister for Transport, Tourism & Sport, both joined Dr Isolde Liebherr to celebrate and welcome the reopening of this magnificent 5-star hotel.
Speaking at the official re-opening, Mr. Coveney said, “It is my great pleasure to open a new jewel for tourists in Ireland, in a place that is one of the jewels in the crown of our entire tourist industry. The rebirth of this hotel is a further sign of the Liebherrs’ dedication”. Mr. Griffin emphasized the event’s importance for local tourism: "This is very positive news for Kerry tourism. Three Liebherr flat-top cranes support the transformation of Milan's Bovisa gasometers
Two early twentieth century gasometers in the Bovisa district of Milan are being redeveloped into a new innovation campus for Politecnico di Milano, based on a master plan by architect Renzo Piano. Since March 2025, three Liebherr flat-top cranes have covered the entire construction site, handling lifting and material handling work across the project.

THW builds Danube bridge using four Liebherr LTC 1050-3.1 cranes
In Tuttlingen, southern Germany, four small Liebherr cranes have achieved great things: as a temporary replacement for a Danube bridge due for demolition, the LTC 1050-3.1 compact cranes erected a 70-metre-long river crossing as part of a civil defence exercise.
