Liebherr receives a promotional award for new mobile excavator access
The German Mining and Quarrying Industrial Insurers have allocated one of this year’s “Work – Safety – Health” promotional awards to the development of “ergonomic operator access on a mobile excavator”.

This creative work safety and health protection idea was made a reality by engineers from Liebherr-Hydraulikbagger GmbH of Kirchdorf, Germany, in cooperation with the Deutsche Steinkohle AG, Saarbrücken, Germany
The prize was awarded to a new access layout for mobile excavators, which meets ergonomic and occupational safety requirements thanks to a platform in front of the driver’s cab. This ensures that safe entry to and exit from the excavator is always possible, irrespective of the cab position.
