Liebherr delivers four 300-tonne excavators to Colombian coal mine
Liebherr is delivering four R 9350 BH mining excavators to the Colombian company Masering SAS, based in Barranquilla. The 300-tonne machines equipped with backhoe buckets come from the production plant of Liebherr-Brasil Ltda. in Guaratinguetá (Brazil), which was opened in 2008, and will be used in the “El Hatillo” coal mine in northern Colombia. This coal mine is run by a Brazilian commodity company which operates all over the world.
The first two excavators have already been delivered and are now being prepared for deployment in the mine. The main reasons why Masering SAS decided to purchase the large machines from Liebherr were the large volume of the bucket equipment, as well as the ripping force, which is up to 16% more than that offered by other manufacturers.
