The LR 634 Litronic crawler loader recently received the International Forum for Design's prestigious "IF product design award" for 2008 in the transport category. More than 2,700 products made by companies from 35 countries were nominated for the award. Eighteen prizes were awarded in the transport category. The jury's criteria included design quality, workmanship, material, innovation, environmental compatibility, functionality, ergonomics, visualisation of use, safety, branding and aspects of universal design.

At almost the same time, the Liebherr PR 764 Litronic crawler tractor was named 2008 track vehicle of the year in Spain. Under the auspices of the specialist magazine Potencia, an expert jury from leading Spanish construction companies rewarded the best construction machines for the year 2008. There were 120 candidates in eleven categories. The 60-ton flagship of the Liebherr tractor crawler fleet won out in the track vehicles category.

At the same event, the new Liebherr LTM 11200-9.1 mobile crane with new axles and a maximum bearing load of 1,200 tonnes, making it the world's biggest all-terrain crane, won the award in the lifting equipment category.
