Latest news from the Liebherr Group
Gratifying 2007 at Liebherr
The Liebherr Group of companies continued to grow throughout the first three quarters of the 2007 financial year. Total turnover increased by €717.0 million, or 15.5%, to €5,336.0 million. Within this total, the turnover from construction machinery increased by €543.4 million, or 18.3%, to reach €3,511.2 million. The demand for Liebherr construction machinery received an additional boost from the world's largest construction machinery trade fair, Bauma, which took place in Munich in April.

The product divisions outside the construction machinery sector achieved turnover growth of €173.6 million, or 10.5%, to reach €1,824.8 million. The proportion of total Group turnover accounted for by construction machinery was 65.9%. This represents a slight increase compared to the previous year's performance.

For the full financial year 2007, the Liebherr Group of companies is anticipating turnover to grow by more than €1 billion to approximately €7.5 billion. Annual returns likewise suggest positive business growth. There will be a significant improvement on the group’s profits from the previous year, which amounted to 414.6 million Euros. This is accompanied by a further increase in the workforce. As at the end of September 2007, Liebherr employed more than 29,000 people worldwide.

At more than half a billion euros, investment in 2007 reached a new record level. Factory installations are being expanded and modernised at numerous sites within the Liebherr Group of companies or completely new production sites built. This marks a strengthening of the company's presence not just in growth markets such as Russia, Brazil or China. Extensive investment projects are also being implemented in Liebherr’s traditional West European production locations. Upon conclusion of the building activity currently under way or planned for the near future, the Liebherr Group of companies will have additional usable floor space in excess of 450,000 m² at its disposal.
