The Liebherr Group increased its turnover in the 2006 business year by €1,168.0 million or 22.0% to a total of € 6,473.0 million. Gratifying growth rates were recorded in all product areas.
The construction crane and mixing technology division enjoyed above-average growth, with turnover increasing by 41.6% or €208.3 million to €709.2 million. In the earthmoving and mining division, turnover increased by €339.1 million or 18.8% to €2,140.1 million. The mobile cranes division also managed a considerable increase of €259.8 million or 23.3% to €1,373.4 million.
The maritime crane division enjoyed extremely dynamic growth. Turnover in this segment was increased by 27.9% or €92.3 million, reaching €422.6 million. Liebherr achieved growth in turnover from domestic appliances of €110.2 million or 17.5% to €741.7 million. The machine tools and material handling sector also continued to grow. Turnover in this product area increased by €27.5 million or 16.1% to €198.8 million. The aerospace and transportation systems sector too can look back on a successful fiscal year. Aerospace equipment and transportation systems division achieved an increase of €71.5 million or 11.6% to €686.2 million.
The Group's growth in 2006 was also accompanied by an increase in the size of the workforce. At the end of the year, the Liebherr Group employed a total of 26,337 employees worldwide – 2,575 more than on 31.12.2005.
