The Kehl port authorities introduce a second Liebherr large-size material handler

Kehl port authorities have recently introduced a second Liebherr material handler, type A 954 B HD Litronic, in order to cope with the increasing freight arriving at this inland port. Featuring an operating weight of 68 tons, the new A 954 B HD Litronic proves to be particularly powerful in material handling. The efficient handling performances of the first A 954 B HD Litronic used in the port since the beginning of 2002, convinced the Kehl port authorities to opt for a second A 954 B HD Litronic. Cost-effectiveness of the material handling is thus further increased.
Covering a total surface of 320 ha, the Kehl port area features 55 ha of space for industrial development. Approximately three million tons of goods including iron and steel products, mineral oils, cereals, building materials, fuels and products for the paper industry are handled annually on an overall 12 km of quays around the 3 docks. More than 3000 ships call at the Kehl port every year to be loaded or unloaded. |
