Liebherr presents the first Series 4 dozers
The two new dozers, the PR 724 Litronic and PR 734 Litronic , now introduced by Liebherr, are the first models in the new Series 4. Both considerably more powerful than their predecessors they are the top-performing machines in their class. The PR 724 Litronic weighs approx. 16 tonnes and is powered by a 118 kW (160 hp) engine. The larger PR 734 Litronic develops 147 kW (200 hp) and has a service weight of approx. 22 tonnes. The revised hydrostatic travel gear has boosted both crowding and filling performance and increased the rated pulling power. The tracks are controlled by the new fourth-generation Litronic system; among its innovations are an integral operating data memory that can be read out via the multifunction display in the driver’s cab. The new Litronic also varies the vehicle’s steering response to match travel speed, which has the effect of enhancing performance when following a curved path. The spot turn function with contra-rotating tracks is now performed automatically if a sufficiently tight turn is selected.

A further highlight of the new Series 4 models is the redesigned driver’s cab. With increased space, additional storage areas, a cold-store box holder and, in particular, the ergonomically optimised joystick levers for travel and power hydraulics, scarcely any wish has been disregarded in control refinement. The body has been redesigned for a perfect all-round view including the work area and the working attachments. Among the restyling measures are movement of the instrument panel with integral information display for all the main machine functions to a central position in the driver’s main field of view, but without obstructing the view of the blade.
