Reinhard Pleunik from Austria is Europe's fastest crane driver
Reinhard Pleunik from Styria (Austria) won the final of the Liebherr Crane Driver's Cup 2006 on 3 November 2006 in Biberach. He was the quickest to complete the crane agility test with a 42 K.1 fast-erecting crane at Liebherr-Werk Biberach GmbH, taking the lead against competitors from eight nati

A total of 30 crane drivers from France, Iceland, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Slovenia, Czechia and Germany had qualified for the event taking place in Biberach. Preliminary rounds had been organized during the road show of Liebherr-Werk Bischofshofen GmbH in Austria, Czechia and Hungary as well as during company exhibitions of Liebherr dealers in Germany, France, Italy, Iceland and the Netherlands.

The overall winner of the Crane Driver's Cup which was held for the second time was determined in two rounds. The five fastest crane drivers of the first round qualified for the second round of the final. Driving to victory was Reinhard Pleunik from Erbersdorf (Austria) with a total time of 3.33 minutes ahead of Georg Hödl, Austria (3.36) and Christoph Grünwald, Germany (3.40). Other competitors who received rankings at the Biberach final were Jurij Kozar from Mačovci (Slovenia) and Albert Münzer from Dobl (Austria).

All participants attacked the job with great vigor and spent two fantastic days at the final of the Liebherr Crane Driver's Cup 2006.
