Handing over the first redesigned LHM 500 harbour mobile crane in Hamburg
The first “new look” LHM 500 harbour mobile crane was handed over recently to the Buss Kuhwerder Terminal in Hamburg (Germany). At this terminal a Liebherr LHM 400 harbour mobile crane has been handling copper ore concentrate successfully for many years. This machine is now to be replaced with the redesigned LHM 500.

The LHM 500 delivered to Hamburg is fitted with two double winches, each with a lifting capacity of 70 t. It can thus be used for grabbing work (up to 70 tons) and heavy-duty operations (140 tons!). An outreach of 51 metres ensures efficient and fast handling of goods from ship to barge and work on Post Panamax ships. A cabin height of approx. 24 meters gives the crane driver an ideal view of the handling situation. With a maximum wheel load of only 7 t, the crane can be used on any quayside.
