An Indonesian customer receives two freight cranes for goods handling work in Gresik, Surabaya
With its new unloading port in Gresik, Surabaya (Indonesia), PT Gresik Jasatama has been able to decisively improve the infrastructure for various local industries. Petrochemical power stations, cement plants and sugar refineries in this region benefited particularly from this investment.
The project required the construction of a new bulk material wharf. Liebherr delivered two Type CBW fixed freight cranes with 30 t capacity each and an outreach of 26 m. Both cranes feature motor-driven grabs and will be used to unload as much as 1.2 million tons of coal each year. Due to local ground conditions the use of conventional mobile dock cranes was not possible. The above two cranes used weigh only 34 tons.
