New 750-tonne lattice-tower mobile crane
Liebherr has extended its range of heavy lifting cranes with the LG 1750 lattice-tower mobile crane, which is being pre-sented to the public for the first time at this ‘Bauma’ exhibi-tion. It combines the flexibility of a 750-tonne crawler crane with the mobility of a fast-moving truck crane from the same load category. For the modular construction of the LG 1750, Liebherr uses the slewing crane platform and boom and jib systems from the LR 1750 crawler crane and a completely new compact 8-axle chassis. Four extremely rigid, folding arms of generous size make up the star-pattern supports which have a base area of 16 x 16 m. They dominate the ap-pearance of the special crane chassis, which is 3 m wide without the slewing platform, 4 m high and weighs 96 tonnes. Its compact wheelbases, active rear-axle steering for greater manoeuvrability and the latest in driveline design allow the chassis to be driven on the public highway. Installing the crane’s slewing platform, which is transported separately, takes only 30 minutes using a 100-tonne auxiliary crane.
