Digital Smart MRO: in pursuit of innovation

Following a conceptual phase that started in 2020, the year 2022 was rich with experimentation for our Digital Smart MRO initiative.

Our main objective is to set up a Liebherr-Aerospace Data Driven MRO Shop deriving insights from data to make better, smarter and fact-based decisions in real-time. We are continuing with our research to enrich data sets to build a digital twin of a repair shop. In parallel, we initiated preliminary exploratory data mining activities to discover new potential optimization of our customers’ operations

Additionally, we tested different solutions such as mobile cameras in our workshops to facilitate the documentation of findings during troubleshooting, voice control for input into our Manufacturing Execution System (eLIROM) and the automation of different administrative processes such as the commercial check-in.

The upcoming weeks will lead us into more explorations combined with the deployment of various innovations. We will also continue to push beyond the boundaries of our digital twin of the repair shop by improving the digital continuity of information with our customers, partners and suppliers. A great opportunity for us to introduce a collaborative supply chain model!
