Liebherr showcased its 25 kW Electrical Dual Stage Compressor at MINExpo International® 2021 in Las Vegas
As the global interest for green technologies continues to rise, Liebherr is committed to developing cutting edge solutions in order to meet the growing demand for components for alternative drive concepts.
Liebherr participated in the MINExpo International® this year in Las Vegas, Nevada (USA) from September 13 to 15, 2021. This show is the world's largest and most comprehensive global mining event, attracting industry leaders from all over the globe who are interested in networking to learn about the latest trends and innovative technologies in this field. Given this background, the event was a perfect platform to showcase Liebherr’s next-generation compressor that is part of a zero-emission hydrogen propulsion fuel cell system developed by the product segment Aerospace and Transportation Systems of the Liebherr Group.
Being state-of-the-art technology, the new Liebherr compressor exhibited at MINExpo represents another step in the company’s strive for long-term sustainable solutions in the field of alternative drive concepts. Liebherr already offers a range of solutions to help customers reduce emissions. The Liebherr Group has existing in-house core competencies, across all 13 product segments, in diverse fields such as electrification, internal combustion engines, injection systems, alternative renewable fuels – and hydrogen technology. Building from this experience, adoption of fossil fuel free concepts as well as zero emission solutions for the most diverse products, is expected to occur within the next 10 to 15 years. Liebherr brings its know-how and expertise in hydrogen propulsion technology into commercial and construction as well as mining vehicles, maritime vessels, long-haul trucks, rail vehicles, and even aircraft.
MINExpo was a great exposure to show the mining industry players that a green future is available and near for off-road equipment, such as excavators and trucks. Liebherr is leveraging the technology towards zero-emission hydraulic propulsion fuel cell systems, developed by the Aerospace segment, across other branches. Green mobility including less emissions offers many advantages with improvement of air quality, most notably, being at the center stage.
Liebherr has set up production and service support sites for its compressors in Europe and China to meet the growing demand while staying close to its customer base everywhere in the world.
