An ambitious roadmap

The organization of the team has been finalized with the nomination of Thibaut Mielke as coordinator for our Digital Smart MRO program. Holding a French/German Master Degree in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Thibaut started in 2018 as a member of the Liebherr International Young Talent Program that provides different assignments across the global Liebherr-Aerospace network. In his role Thibaut will:

• drive the MRO digital transformation as an end-to-end solution through various projects
• assure a flexible response to market dynamics and customer needs
• increase organizational and service resilience by implementing innovations to enhance collaboration within our MRO network

We started with the definition of the digital journey of our MRO activities and created a roadmap for this digital transformation journey of our MRO activities. More than 30 ideas were pre-selected and clustered into four categories. To prioritize the topics, the team developed an internal scoring method to assess for each idea its ‘level of digital transformation’ in relation with its business impact.

For the experimental phase, the team selected three categories: MRO Process, Data Management and Collaboration/Culture:

• to focus on improving the MRO digital process model by integrating customers, partners and suppliers into a collaborative reverse supply-chain
• to make use of IoT technologies and data analytics and plans to deploy first demonstrators in the incoming inspection process
• to prepare a first experiment applying a data based prediction starting with receiving a unit until ready for shipment

All of these Digital Smart MRO initiatives, linked with Liebherr-Aerospace’s new Service Platform, aim at providing highest OEM quality standards, combined with even more transparency and customized solutions. We will keep you informed on the first results of the experimental phase and the steps ahead.
